Learning from the best, YES!

When three of our Bright Future guys, all over six feet tall,  and newly arrived here from Rwanda and Burundi, asked us to help them find someone to teach them how to play basketball, Project Bazia was at a loss until we heard about YES, the AAU Basketball program which has been at USM for over twenty years.  We called Dr. Dudley Davis who directs this wonderful program, and he said, sure, send them over!  Ben, Dan, and Steeve (yes, 3 e's in his name!)began practicing drills and shooting baskets under the able direction of their coach Alex.  They practiced on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6 for three months and their progress was amazing!  Although their start on the sport was a little late in life to compete with players from the NBA, our three Bright Future guys now can enjoy the pleasure of competing in an American sport.  Thank you, Dr. Davis.  We know they will never forget you and YES!
