What we're working on

Bright Future

Picture

Bright Future is a mentoring organization for immigrant students at Portland High School.  Started in 2012 with partnership from the Portland Mentoring Alliance and funding from Norway Savings Bank, Bright Future  works with students to help navigate American infrastructure, learn about American career, education, and business opportunities, and encourage all members to pursue their own dreams.

Past members have volunteered their muscle to other local service groups such as Furniture Friends, joined a scouting program run by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s department to learn about law enforcement, and made videos through CTN5 to educate their new friends and neighbors about their beliefs and customs. We are a family of friends which includes past members who often return to share their college experiences with undergraduates.
